This full day workshop will start at 10am and approximately last 6 hours with refreshments and a seasonal plant based lunch with some freshly baked bread. Our aim is to show you how to make a delicious, nutritious and sustainable loaf of sourdough bread. We will go through each stage of the process step by step and will explain about all the equipment and ingredients you will need.
There's something truly magical about the process of making your own bread, and we're here to guide you every step of the way. From kneading to baking, you'll gain the skills and confidence to create bakery-quality bread in the comfort of your home.

10 am Welcome
Introduction
Housekeeping
Wash hands
10:15 Mix
Combine starter, flour and warm water in a mixing bowl.
Add seaweed and biasol (spent grain)
10:30 SD Pancakes
Pair off and make some pancakes for the coffee break
Compote
Yoghurt
10:45 Mix in salt and water
Add Oriel Sea salt and warm water to the dough
Observe how the dough feels different (gluten development)
Prep tins for the dough (rub with butter)
11:15 Put dough into tins
Can add seeds into tins prior to the dough
Toppings for the bread
Put dough/tins into warm oven (35 deg) to prove
11:30 Coffee and pancakes
12:00 Butter Making
Explain “cultured butter”
12:30 Prep Lunch
Ikarian Longevity Stew, walnut and red pepper dip, bread and cultured butter.
Explain about Blue Zones
13:30 Have Lunch
14:30 Fresh Air and connect with Nature
14:45 Bake the bread
Whilst the bread is baking we can make sourdough crackers.
15:30 Bread out of the oven
Sum up the day and answer any questions
Compare the different loaves
